                                           Introduction to IWIRC

The Illinois Work Injury Resource Center (IWIRC), founded in 2003 is a state-of-the-art facility that provides the full continuum of pre-employment and post accident/injury services to employers throughout the Tri-County area.

IWIRC was developed based on results of significant research primarily focusing on employers' needs in regard to managing workers compensation costs and national trends in occupational health and rehab.  IWIRC is the first occupational health provider in the Peoria area built on what employers want and need.  The results for our clients have been reductions in workers compensation costs, superior customer service and a reduction of time employers spend managing workers compensation claims.

Since opening in November of 2003, IWIRC has experienced rapid growth and is the provider of choice for many central Illinois companies; including District 150, Morton Industrial Group, Kress Corporation, Peoria Fire Department and the City of Pekin.  Due to this growth we now have two convenient locations. The first is in Peoria’s historic downtown warehouse district.  This facility occupies 6,000 square feet, housing an occupational health medical facility, a 2,500 square feet rehabilitation facility including industrial rehabilitation and onsite diagnostics.  The second location opened in December of 2007 on North Knoxville Avenue, just South of the Knoxville Avenue and Pioneer Parkway intersection, offering the same services.

IWIRC understands that the goal of every employer is to find a health care provider who will diagnose and treat the injury while focusing on the employee’s safe, effective and expedited return to work.  It sounds simple; however, when an employee bounces among physicians and therapists at different locations under independent management, the patient gets lost in the shuffle.  The continuum of care is often broken and the desired outcome is delayed or not achieved.

IWIRC clinicians, coming from all disciplines, work side-by-side and communication is perpetual.  Patients seldom need an outside referral; however if a referral is required, IWIRC continues to manage the case until the employee is fully returned to work.  Considerable attention is given to getting employees back to work as safely and quickly as possible.

In conclusion, IWIRC offers the most comprehensive Occupational Health program in the Peoria area.  Medical care, rehabilitation, diagnostics, prescription drugs and professional consulting are all provided under one roof resulting in less lost workdays for your employee and exceptional customer service.
